Car detailing and paint protection in North Leeds
The ring road and the A61 into town
North Leeds cars do short, stop-start miles on busy roads, which means brake dust, road film and a lot of traffic grime rather than motorway chipping.
Brake dust is iron. It bonds to paint and wheels and it will not wash off. Iron fallout remover and clay take it off, and a coating stops it sticking in the first place.
Roundhay Park and the tree-lined streets
The streets around the park are beautiful and hard on paint. Sap, lime and leaf staining in autumn, all of it acidic, all of it etching lacquer if it sits.
Coated cars shrug most of it off. Uncoated cars parked under limes through August come to us needing correction, every year.
Driveways, gravel and block paving
Gravel drives throw stones at sills and rear quarters, and block paving holds grit that gets picked up by a mitt if the car is washed carelessly.
A pre-rinse and two buckets solves most of it. On the round we bring our own water, so nothing is washed with a hosepipe that has been dragged across the drive.
Commuting into the city
A lot of these cars sit in traffic on Scott Hall Road or the A61 every morning, which is the worst case for brake dust and the best case for a coating: low miles, high grime.
Monthly visits suit these cars better than fortnightly, because they get dirty rather than damaged.
Performance cars and weekend miles
Alwoodley and Adel have plenty of cars that do few miles but matter a lot to their owners. Those are our multi-stage correction and full-body film jobs, and they usually stay on the round afterwards.
We will always say when a car does not need the bigger job. Most do not.

North Leeds questions
The ones we get asked on the phone most weeks.
Is thirty minutes each way a problem?
Not for us. Collection and return is free for jobs of a day or more, which covers correction, coating and film.
Which parts of north Leeds do you cover?
Alwoodley, Adel, Roundhay, Moortown, Chapel Allerton, Meanwood and Weetwood on the Thursday round. Further south we quote.
My wheels are covered in brake dust that will not shift.
That is bonded iron, not dirt. It needs a chemical decontamination, and then a coating on the wheel faces so it stops happening.
Can you park a van on my street?
Usually, and if not we will work from the nearest space. Tell us when you book if parking is tight and we will plan around it.
Do you do fleet or multiple cars?
Yes, and there is a discount for two or more at the same address on the same visit.
