Car detailing and paint protection in Wetherby
The A1(M) and motorway miles
Wetherby sits on the A1(M), and cars that use it daily take stone chips at motorway speed: the leading edge of the bonnet, the mirror backs, the top of the front bumper and the headlights.
Nothing polished fixes a chip. Film is the only answer on those panels, and fitting it before the first long winter is the difference between a clean nose and a peppered one.
Racecourse days and grass parking
On race days a lot of cars park on grass and come off it with mud thrown up the sills and into the arches. Left to dry, that mud holds moisture against the paint and, on an uncoated car, marks it.
A rinse the same evening is usually enough. Cars on the round get it done properly the following Monday anyway.
The bridge and the market square
Parking in the centre is tight, and the damage is predictable: door edges, bumper corners and wheel faces. We see more kerbed alloys in Wetherby than anywhere else on the round.
Wheels come off for coating so the barrels get done, and coated faces mean brake dust rinses away rather than baking on.
The newer estates and executive drives
A lot of Wetherby cars live on private drives, garaged or under a carport, and are washed at home. Those are the cars where a coating pays for itself fastest, because the owner is already doing the right things.
For these we usually recommend one machine stage and a five-year coating, not a full correction.
Commuting into Leeds and York
Forty miles a day on gritted roads puts salt everywhere, and most of it sits where a quick wash never reaches. Film on the front, coating on the rest, and a fortnightly safe wash keeps those cars right.
We collect from Wetherby at no charge for anything that takes a day or more.
Which part of town, which work
| Where | The cars we see | What we usually recommend | Van there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Town centre and the bridge | Kerbed wheels, door scuffs | Enhancement, then wheel coating | Mondays |
| Racecourse side | Grass parking, mud and salt | The maintenance round | Mondays |
| Linton and Collingham | Garaged cars, careful owners | Coating, and film on the front | By arrangement |
| Spofforth Hill estates | Newer family cars | Enhancement and a coating | Mondays |
| A1 commuter cars | Motorway miles, stone chips | Full front film | By arrangement |
Correction, coating and film are all done at the unit. Maintenance details come to you on the days shown.

Wetherby questions
The ones we get asked on the phone most weeks.
Do you cover Boston Spa, Linton and Collingham?
Yes. They are on the Monday round, and collection for unit work is free from all three.
My car is chipped from the A1. Can you fix it?
We can make it look far better, and we can stop the next hundred. Chips already there are touched in or left; film stops new ones.
Is Monday the only day you can come?
For the round, yes, so everyone gets the same slot each fortnight. Unit work is any day, with collection.
Can you coat a car that is kept outside?
Yes, and it matters more than on a garaged car. It will not stop everything, but it makes washing far easier, which is what keeps the paint flat.
Do you do interiors?
Light interior work as part of a detail, yes. Full interior restoration we refer out, and we will tell you who to.
