What a maintenance detail is
It is a safe wash done properly, on your drive, on a schedule. Pre-rinse, snow foam, two buckets with grit guards, a clean mitt, a soft drying towel, then wheels, tyres, glass and a protection top-up.
It sounds ordinary because it is. The value is in doing it the same way every time, so the paint you paid to correct, coat or film stays the way it left us.
Nothing here is a machine polish. A maintenance visit removes dirt, not defects. If a car needs correcting we will say so, book it into the unit, and then keep it right afterwards on the round.
Why it is the cheapest thing you can buy
A correction costs hundreds and takes days. A maintenance round costs the price of a takeaway and takes ninety minutes. Cars on a round almost never need correcting again, because the damage that makes correction necessary is put in by careless washing.
Most of the swirls we polish out came from a brush wash, a dirty sponge or a cheap drying towel. Remove those and the paint simply stays right.
What we bring, and what we need
Everything: water, power, lighting and all the products. We need space to walk around the car and somewhere to park the van, and nothing else. You do not need to be in, and most of our round never sees us.
Winter makes no difference. The van carries heated water and the work lights mean a January visit at four in the afternoon is lit better than most garages. Salt is exactly what you want washing off in winter, so that is when the round matters most.
Coated and filmed cars
If your car is coated or filmed, this is how the warranty stays intact. Coatings are warranted on the condition they are washed properly and inspected, and film edges need checking. We do both on every visit and tell you if anything needs attention.
It also keeps the coating working. A coating that is never washed still collects road film, and road film flattens the beading people paid for. Fifteen minutes with the right shampoo brings it back.
How a visit runs
Five steps, the same on every car.
- 01
We arrive and look
A walk round the car first, in our own light, so anything new gets pointed out rather than washed over.
- 02
Pre-rinse and foam
Loose grit is rinsed off and the car is foamed, so nothing is dragged across the paint by a mitt.
- 03
Two-bucket wash
Clean water, clean mitt, grit guards, panel by panel, top down. Wheels and arches with their own tools.
- 04
Dry and detail
Soft drying towels, glass cleaned inside the door shuts, tyres dressed, plastics wiped down.
- 05
Top up and check
A spray sealant or coating booster, then a check of film edges and coating beading, and a note of anything to watch.
What would it cost for your car?
Three answers. The figure you get is not a formula — it is what we actually charged on the jobs in our own book that match yours.
Typically £865, across 4 jobs in our book.
Paint correction
Depth readings first, then two or three stages until the paint is right.
Every figure here is what we actually charged for work like yours. Yours is confirmed on the paint, with depth readings, before anything is booked.

Maintenance questions
The practical ones, about how it actually works.
Do you need my water or electricity?
No. The van carries its own water, power and lighting, so all we need is space around the car.
Do I have to be home?
No. Most of the round never sees us. Leave the car on the drive and we will text you when it is done.
What if it rains?
We still come. The car is washed and dried the same way, and a coated or sealed car sheds the rain afterwards anyway. We only move a visit for ice or high wind.
Can you do it at my work?
Yes, if there is space beside the car and the car park allows it. Plenty of the round is done at offices rather than houses.
How much notice do you need?
Regular customers keep the same slot on the round, so nothing is needed. For a one-off we are usually a week out, less in winter when the round is quieter.
Will this keep my coating warranty valid?
Yes. Coating warranties depend on the car being washed properly and inspected, and we do both on every visit and keep the record.
